Sims 3 coming to a web browser near you!

Remember that awesome simulation franchise...You know the one, where you would have to make your little digital person cook, clean, get a job, and go to the bathroom?  I think it was called...The Sims?!  If so, then hold on to your hats because you can now try it out in your web browser.

To be more specific, EA is bringing The Sims 3 to your web browser in the form of a free trial.  The beauty of it, you don't have to download several gigabytes of game data to play it.  Right now there is a 20 minute demo at: http://www.thesims3.com/demo

The demo includes a mix of content from the core game and a couple of expansion packs.  If you like the demo, feel free to scoot over to EA's Origin online store to purchase full access.

EA Shutting Down Game Servers

Announced yesterday, EA will be shutting down game servers used for online play for the following titles in two phases.  The first phase in August 2011 and the second in October 2011:

First Phase:
-Army of Two for PS3, Xbox 360 (also includes the Demo for the 360)
-Battlefield 2142 demo for PC
-Battlefield 2: Modern Combat + Demo for Xbox 360
-Medal of Honor Airborne for PSP
-Medal of Honor Heroes 2 for Wii and PSP
-NASCAR '09 for PS3 + Xbox 360 (in North America, you mean other countries like NASCAR too?)
-NCAA Basketball 10 and NCAA Football 10 for PS3 and Xbox 360
-Need for Speed Most Wanted for PC and Xbox 360
-Need for Speed Undercover for PSP
-SKATE for PS3 and Xbox 360
-Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 for PS3, Xbox 360, and PSP
-Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 Demo for the PS3 and Xbox 360

Second Phase:
-Madden NFL 10 for PS3 and Xbox 360
-NHL 10 for PS3 and Xbox 360

So alas to games on the list.  Farewell to online play.

New 'The Secret World' Trailer: Savage Coast

Posted yesterday on Machinima's YouTube Channel is the newest trailer for upcoming MMO 'The Secret World'.  This trailer is entitled: 'The Savage Coast'.  I'm really looking forward to this MMO being released.  I know it's going to be jumping into a steady stream of already successful MMO titles and that may make it hard to pickup momentum.  But hopefully it'll be as unique as the devs are promising.  So, checkout their newest vid of Solomon Island.

Crysis 2 Screenshots! w00t!

As a fan of 'Crysis' and 'Crysis: Warhead', I have been eagerly awaiting news for 'Crysis 2'. And Actiontrip.com has delivered. They have listed up several new screens for the much anticipated sequel.  New features to the sequel include a new setting for the game (a half-destroyed version of New York), more aliens, a new version of the Nano Suit, and a promise of more big gun action.  The game engine has also been revamped.  The sequel looks like it has quite a bit to offer.  Plus it's supposed to be a multiplatform release (PC, Xbox 360, and PS3).  Which means, if you own a console, you'll not need a beast of a computer to play the game this time around.
