Update on the Non-Update for my Acer Tablet...Tick-Tock

Just checking in with an update.  My Acer Iconia Tablet a500 still has yet to notify me of an update for Honeycomb 3.1 floating around out there anywhere.  If anyone has seen a lost update walking down the street, how about doing me a favor and sending it my way.  LOL.

Seriously though:
As of 5:10pm Wed. (7-13-11) still no update.  I'll give it one more day before contacting Acer Support again.

6:28p 7-14-11: Still no update on my tablet either. If nothing comes in today/tonight looks like I'll be hassling Acer support again tomorrow for a timeline of when updates rollout. However, I expect they'll say the same thing the first two reps said 'Just wait and it will show up'.

Guess this is why people root and flash custom ROMs. There is a post over on XDA-Developers forums for the Honeycomb 3.1 leak (working manual update). Despite wanting to keep everything as 'official' as possible, may have to do some reading over there and see what is involved.

They keep telling me the same thing in thinking about rooting it too.. I read that they pulled the update but acer said that's not true I just want the update already

I completely understand. I've been wanting to play with the new movie editing app and see what else might be tucked away in there. But not happening yet. The leak on XDA-Developers forum was for a Chinese mulitlingual version of Acer's 3.1 release.

I love the tablet as far as hardware goes, and Honeycomb is pretty slick as well. But would like the latest and greatest. You know how that is. lol

ya it sucks I read all the new features and seen videos I'm getting inpatient with this in clueless when it comes to rooting or would of done it when the leak came out... I've most of search manually 1000 times already lol

I'm right there with you. I've jailbroken my iPod Touch several times, and I figure rooting the tablet can't be any more involved than that was. But as knew as my tablet is, I'd prefer to keep it stock. One site I saw last night said ASUS is testing 3.2 on the Transformer now. So Acer will probably shoot us the 3.1 update after we're getting teased for 3.2. lol
